Doris Cook

Funeral Services for Doris Christine Cook of Flippin, AR, will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Hopewell Baptist Church, with Rev. Louis Stephens officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time, Tuesday, December 22 at Hopewell Baptist Church. Doris Cook died Saturday, December 19, 2009 in Flippin at the age of 74. Doris was born Monday, January 21, 1935 in Trenton, Tennessee, daughter of Joe and Lula Patterson Roberts. She married Henry B. Cook on August 27, 1960 at Winchester, Virginia. She and her husband own and operated Wildcat Resort for many years. Doris lived in Flippin since 1972 moving from Memphis, Tennessee. She was a loving wife and nanny to all. Doris Cook is survived by her husband, Henry B. Cook, of Flippin, son, Dustin Carter of Summit, AR, two daughters, Patty Ann (Bob) Lansdowne of Hutchinson, KS, Frankie Darnell Davis of Flippin, AR, sister, Pearl Hutchison of McKenzie, TX, and five Grandchildren: Joe, Dawn, Dwayne, Doris Ami, and Kenny. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Tom Roberts, and sister, Virginia Boucher. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery, Flippin, AR with Dustin Carter, Bob Lansdowne, Joe Lomax, Ed House, Bill Casebolt, and Leonard Tilley as pallbearers. Honarary pallbearers will be Dale Trivitt, Ron Erwin, and Troy Hall. Memorials may be made to the Hopewell Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
