A Memorial Service for Doris Jean Dykstra of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Burns officiating.
Doris entered into eternal rest, Thursday, November 24, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 87. She was born August 28, 1929, in Eldon, Iowa, the daughter of Harley H. and Hazel Seaman Finney. Her husband was Junior Charles (J.C.) Dykstra and together they owned and operated the Mountain Home Motel from 1960 until 1980, while raising three daughters. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon. She used her gift of sewing to bless others.
Doris is survived by her three daughters, Vanessa (Tom) Swope of Springdale, AR, June (Joe) Franks of Batesville, AR and Elaine (Ron) Terry of Gassville, AR; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Sue (Fritz) Burns of Oran, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Dorothy Warden and Marge Catterall and two brothers, Bud Finney and Bob Finney.
Private Inurnment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Monroe House, 513 East 16th Street, Mountain Home, AR 72653, where everyone treated her as family.
