Doris Jean Carter King, 81, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Suburban Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Doris was born March 26, 1933, in Rector, Arkansas, to Henry and Faye Richardson Carter. Doris Jean Carter graduated from Rector High School in 1951. She married Luther Stanley King in Rector on June 26, 1954. She was a former Deacon of the Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stan King; father, Henry Carter; mother, Faye Richardson Carter and brothers Donald Carter and Richard Carter.
She is survived by her three sons, Bradley (Beth) King of Argyle, TX, Bryan (Cindy) King of Raymore, MO and Adam (Carla) King of Louisville, KY; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Tyler, Patrick, Rachel, Sarah, Emily, Michael, Thomas and Logan; four great-grandchildren, Dylan, Gabriella, Grant, and Emma; one sister, Carol (Roger) Marshall of Weir, KS; one brother, Bill (Marlow) Carter, of Nashville, TN; sisters-in-law Charlie Faye Carter Cooper, Pat Carter Wearne, and Jan Carter and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Visitation will be at Kirby and Family Funeral Home on Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Entombment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
