A memorial service for Dorothy J. Chittenden, 76, of Mountain Home will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. Mrs. Chittenden died Thursday, December 7, 2006, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. Dorothy J. Chittenden was born December 18, 1929, at Muscatine, Iowa, to Francis and Florence Grunder Gray. She was an administrative assistant to the president of Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was employed in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Office of Senator Charles Grassley. She lived in Mountain Home since moving from Cedar Rapids in 1985. Mrs. Chittenden enjoyed cooking, entertaining, reading and sewing. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Nancy) Chittenden of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Robert (Ruth) Chittenden of Hudson, Iowa, and James (Robyn) Chittenden of Columbia, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Mark, Aaron (Jennifer), Adam (Toni), Alex (Becky), Angela, Shawn, Christie and Payson; four great-grandchildren, Presley, Dante, Faith and Hannah; one brother, John Gray of West Palm Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands, James W. Hartz and Harold E. Chittenden. Memorials may be made to the Baxter Regional Medical Center Foundation or the Kirkwood Community College Foundation.
