Memorial Graveside Services for Dorothy Bassett Edwards of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am Monday, December 20, 2010 at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.
Dorothy died Friday, December 17, 2010, at the age of 89. Dorothy was born February 20, 1921 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Woodson W. and Bee Knerr Bassett. She attended the University of Arkansas where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She married Howard Edwards on September 8, 1950 at Monticello, Arkansas. She was a homemaker. Dorothy lived in Mountain Home for 17 years moving from Nederland, Texas. Dorothy's family would like to thank Dr. Tim Paden and the staff at the Gassville Nursing Center for the care that they gave to her.
Dorothy Edwards is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Charles) Lewis of Mountain Home, AR; granddaughter, Shelby Brugman of San Marcos, TX; 3 great-grandsons, Jeremy, Kerry, and Jamie Brugman, great-great-grandson, Ryan Brugman, 3 nieces, and 6 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, 2 sisters, and a son-in-law.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas, 2656 Hwy 201 North, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
