Dorothy Nelson

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in California for Dorothy Jean Nelson of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Dorothy passed away January 18, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 90. She was born November 16, 1921, in San Luis Obispo, California, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle Jackson. She married Emmet Ferguson in July of 1940. After Emmet passed, she married Jack Nelson in February of 1961. Dorothy worked as an administrative assistant for the United States Government. Dorothy lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since September of 2011, moving from Astascadero, California. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her husband Jack, and cherished the time they spent together on their trips to Hat Creek, California. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family. Dorothy is survived by one son, David (Pat) Ferguson of Mountain Home, AR; one daughter, Linda (Harvey) Newman of California; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Emmet Ferguson, second husband, Jack Nelson, and three cousins. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
