Dorothy Sanders

Dorothy Darlene Sanders was born May 25, 1926 at Heartha, Kansas to John and Anna Torreyson Stienmitz. She graduated from The Research School of Nursing as an RN in Kansas City, Mo. in 1947. She married Nield J. Sanders on October 30, 1940 at Kansas City and worked for a group of Neurosurgeons as a scrub tech in Kansas City before moving to Arkansas in 1963. She served on the board of directors at the Baxter Regional Medical Center and the board of directors at the Twin Lakes Golf Club. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. Dorothy Sanders passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 2 days. Survivors: Dorothy is survived by her sister Doris Shields of Kansas City, Mo and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers and one sister. Visitation: From 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Monday, July 31, 2006 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home in Mountain Home Funeral: Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum with Dr. Bruce McClendon officiating. Burial: Entombment will be at the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum. Memorials: Baxter Regional Medical Center Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
