Funeral services for Dorothy C. Sheldon of Mountain Home, AR, will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jerry Backus officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Friday, October 16 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Dorothy died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 76. She was born Tuesday, April 25, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of Henry and Judith Mary Tobiason Jorgensen . She married Joseph Sheldon on June 13, 1953 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was a homemaker. Dorothy lived in the twin lakes area since 1990 moving from Texas and Wisconsin. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxilary Alley White Post #52. She loved knitting, gardening and singing.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Joseph Sheldon, 4 daughters, Gloria (Jeff) Schmidt of Round Rock, TX, Beverly Ann (Steve) Mills of Guthrie, OK, Kathleen Rae (Randall) Ryon of Ft. Worth, TX and Kristin (Howard) Phillips of Odessa, TX, son, Richard Allen Sheldon of Mountain Home, AR, 2 grandchildren, Joseph Thomas and Gabriel, sister, Joan Blatt and caregiver and special friend, Cynthia L. Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bull Shoals.
Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
