A Funeral Service for Doyle Gene Evans of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at the College & North Church of Christ, with Brother Ken Burton officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2, 2014, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at the College & North Church of Christ.
Doyle passed away August 29, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 76. He was born March 25, 1938, in Ozark County, Missouri, the son of Harvey and Thelma White Evans. He married Freda Smith on February 23, 1957, at Dora, Missouri, and was a turkey farmer. Doyle lived in Mountain Home since moving from Gainesville, Missouri, in 1966. He was a member of the College and North Church of Christ. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, shooting skeet, and especially enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Freda Evans of Mountain Home, AR; two daughters, Katrina (Shannon) Clements of Gassville, AR, and Kelly (Sean Waltz) Davidson of Mountain Home, AR; grandson, Kyle (Lena Davis) Clements of Mountain Home, AR; granddaughter, Tara (Blake Robertson) Davidson of Little Rock, AR; brother, James (Marilyn) Evans of Mountain Home, AR; three sisters, Betty (Gene) Hastings of Mountain Grove, MO, Judy (Steve) Smith of Willow Springs, MO, and Mary Evans of West Plains, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mike Evans.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Clinton Evans, Jim Estes, Curtis Williams, Bobby Lance, David Pitchford, and Lonnie Myers as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Paragould Children's Homes.
