Duane Lackey

Military Honors for Duane Jewel Lackey of Flippin, AR will be 11AM Friday August 12, 2011 at Hoevel-Barnett Post 1341 VFW in Bull Shoals, AR. Duane died at home Sunday August 7, 2011. He was 85. Duane was born January 14, 1926 at Bristow, OK to Curtis and Edith Spearman Lackey. He married Sharon Heflin January 13, 1990 at La Plata County, CO. Duane was a United States Veteran of the United States Army. Before moving to Flippin Duane worked in the trucking industry as a machinist. He worked as a fishing guide here out of the Cotter Boat Dock. Duane enjoyed dancing, woodworking and playing cards, especially penny ante poker. He was a member of the Cotter VFW. Duane is survived by his wife Sharon of the home; son, Alan Lazarowitz (Brenda) of Seboygan, WI; two daughters, Debbie Jent (Guy) of Lancaster, CA and Christina Parnell of Gautia, MS; two brothers, Dale Lackey (Jeanine) of Paris, TX and Kenneth Lackey of Gassville, AR; one sister, Judy Henley of Fayetteville, AR; five grandchildren, Guy Ryan Jr, Jonathan, Sasha, Sharon, Brandon, and Jordan and one great-grandchild Kyra. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Wanda Merchant and son, Geof Lazarowitz. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
