A Celebration of Life for Dudley Floyd Mackey of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm, at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Thomas Yoder officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until service time. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guard.
Dudley was born September 4, 1944, in Crane, Missouri, the son of Jerald Albert and Delores Jean Perryman Mackey. Dudley was raised in Cotter by his mother and step father Dewey Earl Farris and graduated from Cotter High School. After four years of service in the U.S. Navy, he moved to California for several years and moved back to Mountain Home in 1978. He worked for McClain Farms, was a White River Fishing Guide and was a LPN Scrub Nurse, retiring from Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was an avid turkey and deer hunter and fisherman. Dudley passed away November 7, 2013, in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 69.
Dudley is survived by his brother, Bill (Brenda) Mackey of Cotter, AR, two sisters, Julia Ann (Eddie) Potts of Norfork, AR, and Johanna Wade of Cotter, AR;
two sons, Jake Mackey of San Francisco, CA and Brandon Carter of Jonesboro, AR; daughter, Amanda Carter of Jonesboro, AR; one grandson, Koby Walker of Elizabeth, AR; life companion, Sandra Carter Mackey of Mountain Home, AR and former wife, Joyce Mackey of Mountain Home, AR and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Mackey and two brothers, Jerry Mackey and Charlie Farris.
Private burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
