Funeral Services for Earl Lewis Hogard of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Kapler officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 pm until service time.
Earl passed away September 14, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 87. He was born October 10, 1926, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Earl and Lora McKinney Hogard. He married Nova Ella Dunn on January 29, 1949, at Tulsa, OK.
He attended Will Rogers High School, Tulsa, OK, and later, the University of Tulsa. He was a member of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (#451), American Institute of Accountants and Sons of American Revolution (Tulsa, OK chapter).
Employed by Witco Corporation in Amarillo, TX, New York and in New Jersey from 1953 through 1985 when he retired from his position as Vice-President of the company. He had also been listed in Who's Who in America. He had served in several positions with both the New Jersey and National groups of the Financial Executives Institute. Prior to joining Witco, he had been employed by Hillcrest Memorial Hospital, Deep Rock Oil Corporation and a partner in the firm of Earl L. Hogard and Sons, CPA's, all in Tulsa, OK.
Earl is survived by his two sons; Andrew Lee Hogard and Gordon Earl Hogard; daughter, Kathryn Coleman; brother Joseph Hogard and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, wife and brother, John Hogard.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
