Earl Stafford

April 11, 1927 — January 21, 2010

Earl Junior Stafford, age 82, of Flippin passed away, Thursday, January 21, 2010. He was born April 11, 1927 in Zent, Arkansas, the son of William Thomas Stafford and Kittie Henard.

Earl graduated from Brinkley High School in 1944 and joined the USMC in 1945, where he completed his Marine training in San Diego, California and was a WWII era veteran.

Returning to Arkansas, he married Jeanette Irwin in 1947 and worked as a farm manager of Carter-Clifton Co. They moved to Flippin in 1976 where he worked in real estate. He was a member and Deacon of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church at Gassville and a member of the Alley-White American Legion Post #52. Earl was Past Master of Richmond Masonic Lodge #94, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rites Mason and a member of Sahara Temple Shrine.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanette and son Leslie Stafford and wife Deborah of Bull Shoals and daughters, Rosalee Wade, Linda Liddle and Susan Johnson and husband Paul, all of Flippin.

He is also survived by a brother, Dale Stafford and wife Penny of North Little Rock and sisters Betty Sue Stierwalt of Martinsville,Indiana and twins, Flora Arnold of Jonesboro and Dora Robinson and husband Charles of Heber Springs.

He was blessed with nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Earl had a very friendly personality and was loved by all who met him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Farris Wayne Stafford, brothers Earnest Stafford, Tommy Joe Stafford, infant, Billy Stafford and 3 sisters, Marie Hoy and Louise Jones.

Visitation will be at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel 5:00-8:00PM Sunday, January 24, 2010. Funeral services will be Monday, January 25, 2:00PM at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain Home, AR. Burial will follow at the Flippin Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be provided by the Mountain Home Masonic Lodge #225 and military honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House or Unity Missionary Baptist Chruch at Gassville.
