Edna Opitz

Funeral services for Edna Louise Opitz of Bella Vista, AR formerly of Mountain Home, will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor David Gadbaw officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time. Edna died Thursday, December 3, 2009 in Springdale at the age of 93. She was born Tuesday, May 2, 1916 in Nashville, Kansas, daughter of Fred and Louise Laverentz Dicke. She married Alfred Opitz on May 5, 1935 at Nashville, Kansas and was a homemaker. Edna lived in Mountain Home from 1987 through 2001 moving from Pratt, Kansas. She then moved to Bella Vista to be with her family. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Chruch. Edna Opitz is survived by her 2 daughters; Carol Malcolm of Hutchinson, KS and Phyllis Goss of Bella Vista, AR,5 Grandchildren; Troy Goss, Terri Lade, Valerie Justin, Chuck Malcolm, and Lori Keegan, and 7 Great-grandchildren; 3 boys and 4 girls. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, and her daughter, Glenda Austin. Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
