Services for Edward Henry Berning of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be private.
Edward passed away June 6, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 94. He was born May 7, 1920, in Glencoe, Illinois, the son of Edward and Mamie Schroeder Berning, Sr. He married Audrey "Earlene" Trimble on July 8, 1944, at Carlsbad, New Mexico and worked for Illinois Bell. Edward was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and lived in Highland Park, Illinois, then retired to Lake Camelot, Wisconsin and then to Mountain Home in 1986. He was a member of the George W. Benjamin American Legion Post #791 in Northbrook, Illinois and longtime member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
Edward is survived by his wife, Audrey Earlene Berning of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Sherry Berning of Davenport, IA; grandson, L. Tobias Lewis of Madison, WI and great-grandson, Elijah Alcide Edward Lewis of Madison, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Rebecca Anne.
Memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Society or American Cancer Society.
