Elaine J. Matejka

Elaine J Matejka of Lakeview, previously Bull Shoals, Arkansas, passed away January 29, 2024, in Lakeview, Arkansas at the age of 90. She was born October 18, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Lillian Witek Zika. Elaine was a homemaker when her children were young and then worked as a waitress. She married Richard Matejka August 24, 1975, and they moved to Promise Land (Arkansas) owning and operating the Bass Bay Resort for five years. She sang in the Heart of the Hills Choral Group, was a dedicated Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House Volunteer and a member of the Mountain Home Bible Church. Elaine loved to bowl, play on their pontoon boat, and work in her garden.

Elaine is survived by her son, Russell Emmering of Lakeview, AR, son, John (Robin) Emmering of IN; stepsons, Richard Matejka Jr. (Sue) of CT and Douglas Matejka of FL; stepdaughter, Jackie McShane (Patrick) of IL; sister, Violet Fenton of Tarpon Springs, FL; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Linda Gifford.

Visitation for Elaine will be Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 4-6PM at Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, AR. A Funeral Service will be 10AM Friday, February 2, 2024, at Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Mountain Home, AR. Entombment will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum.
