Military Honors for E.J. "Barney" Hagin, 90, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be Wednesday, January 4, 2012, 2:00 PM at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mauseleum. Barney passed away December 27, 2011, in Mountain Home. He was born January 24, 1921, in Sterling, CO, the son of Everett and Clara Desserich Hagin. He married Millicent Leith in 1942 and she passed in 1970. He obtained his Doctorate at the University of Illinois and was on the original faculty at the United States Air Force Academy. He married Adelyn Geving on April 14, 1979, at Carmel, California and worked as a Aerospace Scientist. Barney was a U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII and a career officer. Barney lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 2002 moving from Santa Maria, California. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion and Elks. Barney loved dogs, enjoyed building, fly fishing, creative design, and was instrumental in designing the GPS systems that are popular today. Barney was a gentile man who loved life and was interested in all people. Barney is survived by his wife, Adelyn of Mountain Home, AR; one daughter, Lisa (Jim) Krause of Evening Shade, AR and one granddaughter, Courtney Snyder of Baton Rouge, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Eleanor Nunn, and Winifred Sampson, and his first wife, Millicent. Entombment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memoiral Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
