A memorial service for Eleanor Christine Ritter of Mountain Home will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2006, at Norfork United Methodist Church with Reverend Blake Langston officiating. Mrs. Ritter died Saturday, November 11, 2006, at Baxter Regional Medical Center. She was 93. Eleanor Ritter was born May 1, 1913, at Chicago, Ill., to Paul and Marie Mosbaek Miller. She married Leonard Edward Ritter on October 29, 1938, at Jefferson City, Mo. She was a school teacher, who earned a Bachelors degree from Illinois State University. She went on to receive a Master's degree in education from Northwestern University. She taught for over 40 years. Mrs. Ritter lived in Chenoa, Ill. before moving to Mountain Home in 1976. She was an active member of the Norfork United Methodist Church where she enjoyed playing the organ and being a part of the church family. She is survived by 3 sons, Robert R. Ritter of Peoria, IL, William E. Ritter of Normal, IL, James P. Ritter of North Pole, AK; 2 daughters, Nancy Pool of Mountain Home, AR, and Jackie Scholl of Raleigh, NC; 1 brother, Paul Russell Miller; 14 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, and 2 sisters. Memorials may be made to the Norfork United Methodist Church, Mountain Home High School Band, or Twin Lakes Literacy Council.
