Funeral services for Eleonor F. Henderson of Mountain Home will be private. Mrs. Henderson died Thursday, November 23, 2006, at Hospice House. She was 93. Eleanor Henderson was born January 28, 1913, at Oakland, California, to Albert and Ena DeLemos Ford. She married John Henderson on September 15, 1945, at Santa Cruz, California. She was a bookkeeper for Cook Research Labs for 25 years. Mrs. Henderson lived in Palo Alto, California, before moving to Mountain Home in 1964. She was the secretary of the Ozark Earth Science Club and active in the Senior Club in Mountain Home. She was highlighted in the July 2001 edition of the Baxter Bulletin's Senior Focus as the #1 skier on Bull Shoals Lake at the age of 88. She was also an experienced pilot who flew her Cessna airplane as her husband drove, pulling their travel trailer, from California to Mountain Home when they moved to the Twin Lakes area. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Andie Dedo of El Dorado, California; two nieces, Nan Dame of Mountain View, California, and Patti Ford of Brookdale, California. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Burial will be in Alta Mesa Cemetery in Alta Mesa, California.
