Services will be private for Elinor Mae Nordbye of Mountain Home, Arkansas. She died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Care Manor Nursing Center, at the age of 81. Elinor was born May 24, 1929 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Hedwig Reckman.
She married William Nordbye on May 23, 1953 at Berwyn, Illionois. She worked as a register nurse for the Berwyn Health Department. Elinor lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas for 22 years, moving from Berwyn, Illinois. She loved to bowl.
Elinor is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Nordbye, son Robert (Keri) Nordbye of Bolingbrook, Illinois; daughter, Janet (Rodney) Clement of Corpus Christi, Texas; 2 brothers, Fred (Beverly) Reckman of Clinton, Iowa, David (Audrey) Reckman of Pharr, Texas; brother-in-law, Louis Doden of Hollister, Missouri; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Dorthy Reckman and Margaret Doden. Memorials may be made to the Alzhiemers Association. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
