Funeral services for Ellen Jeanette Smith of Mountain Home, AR, will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 31, 2009 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time.
Ellen Smith died Thursday, August 27, 2009 in Gassville at the age of 96. Ellen Smith was born Wednesday, January 29, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Kornelius and Mary Hansen Soltvedt. She married Robert L. Smith on May 11, 1946 at Chicago, Illinois and was a homemaker. Ellen lived in Mountain Home since 1971 moving from Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of the Art Van Matre Senior Center, Navistar Club and UAW Club.
Ellen Smith is survived by her 2 nephews, Thomas Soltvedt of Fairview, PA, and George Freese of League City, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Masonic Home, Sullivan, Illinois.
Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
