A Funeral Service for Elmer Ray Duncan of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend David Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, January 16, 2016, from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
Elmer passed away January 13, 2016, in Mount Vernon, Missouri, at the age of 91. He was born July 25, 1924, in Batesville, Arkansas, the son of Allen and Etta Grubbs Duncan. He married Hazel Krantz on October 25, 1941, at Pocahontas, Arkansas, and was a factory worker for McDonnell Douglas. Elmer was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Elmer lived in Mountain Home since moving from Garden Grove, California, in 1972. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the Purple Heart Society. He enjoyed fishing & walking.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Hazel Duncan of Mountain Home, AR; four sons, Jerry Duncan of Springfield, MO, Larry Duncan of Orange, CA, Ronald Duncan of Springfield, MO, and Randy Duncan of Orange, CA; daughter, Linda Schanderl of Lehi, UT; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren & 4 great-great grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Barbara Duncan; three brothers, Grady Duncan, Marvin Duncan and Alson Duncan; and three sisters, Vernie Duncan, Myrtle Vickers, and Geraldine Bramblett.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Brian Duncan, Ken Duncan, David Duncan, Jerry Duncan JR, Justin Duncan, Cody Duncan, Jake Say & Tracy Duncan as pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 and the United States Army Honor Guards.
