Elmer died at Hospice House on September 29, 2007. Elmer was born in Baxter County, Arkansas to William R. and Mary Ella Dutton. He married Nancy Cargin on October 1, 1988 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Many knew Elmer as the owner of Dutton's Texaco Station in Lakeview. During his lifetime he worked many jobs to take care of his family, including working as a chef and working on both the construction of the Bull Shoals Dam and Highway 178. Elmer was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a lifetime member of Hoevel-Barnett Post #1341. Elmer was a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors: He is survived by his wife Nancy Dutton of Lakeview, Arkansas, son James Dutton of Dallas, Texas, sisters Hazel Pittaway of Gassville, Arkansas and Mable Arnold (Robert) of Big Cabin, Oklahoma. He is also survived by one grandson, Brandon Dutton (Lindsay) of Arnold, Missouri, granddaughter, April Thorn, great granddaughter Alyssa Thorn and daughter in law Betty Dutton, all of Mountain Home , Arkansas , as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Joann, son Robert Dutton, sisters Ruby Mitchell, Helen Heersche and brothers Roy, Ernest, Austin and Norman Dutton. Funeral: A memorial service for Elmer Edward Dutton of Lakeview, Arkansas will be at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church in Lakeview, Arkansas with Pastor Mark Norris Officiating.
