A funeral service for Elmer C. Johnson, Jr., 92, of Mountain Home, AR, will be held at11:00 A.M., Friday, November 2, 2012, at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home with Dr. Terry Moser officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time. He died at his residence on October 31, 2012. Elmer was born on June 14, 1920, to Elmer, Sr. and Anna Dohnal Johnson in Chicago, IL. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 41 years and was a Chief Master Sergeant in World War II and in the Korean War. Upon retirement, he and his family moved to Mountain Home. Elmer married Bettie Quay Fulgham on October 20, 2001, and they are members of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Cotter, AR. Elmer is survived by his wife, Bettie of Mountain Home; his cousins including Stephen (Barbara) Johnson of Genoa, IL and James (Joyce) Kastner of Titusville, FL; his sisters-in-law, Anne (John) Brister of Salesville, AR and Debbie Cowley of Oxford, MS; brothers-in-law, Troy "Rock" (Judi) Fulgham of Madison, MS and Johnny Himes of Monroe, LA and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ann; his sons, Ken and Allen; his brother, Dohnal and his sister-in-law, Connie Hines. Interment will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Gassville, AR with military honors being provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Rick Fava, Dakin Hines, Hunter Hines, Johnny Brister, Adam Brister, Troy "Rock" Fulgham and Heath Williams. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church in Cotter or to Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home.
