A Committal Service for Elmer Cyril Overton of Gassville will be 10:30 A.M. July 1, 2010 at the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Des Moines, Iowa.
Elmer died June 21, 2010 at the age of 98. He was born July 14, 1911 at Altoona, Iowa the son of Thomas and Henrietta Woods Overton. He married Evelyn Ellis and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked as a mechanic and did boby work in the trucking industry. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists.
Elmer is survived by his niece, DeEtta (Pat) Fankhauser and many nieces and nephews across the country. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Gilberta Wiesner of S. St. Paul, MN, Monica Dastic of Glenview, IL and Carol Schubert of Glenview, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, sister, Hazel Morris and brother, Thomas Overton.
