A Graveside Service for Elva Mae Tharp of Cotter, Arkansas, will be 10:30 am, Friday, December 30, 2016, at Bean Cemetery, with Reverend Kenneth Carr officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2016, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Elva passed away December 27, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 72. She was born September 24, 1944, in Vineland, New Jersey, the daughter of Alfred and Doris Turner Ashton. She married Lee on July 17, 1964, at Egg Harbor, New Jersey and worked as a Personal Care Aide. Elva lived in the Twin Lakes area since 1983, moving from New Jersey.
Elva is survived by her husband, Lee Tharp of Cotter, AR; three sons, Roy Tharp of Cotter, AR, Rick Tharp of Midway, AR and Michael Tharp of Cotter, AR; four daughters, Darlene Brown of Mountain Home, AR, Cathy Van Dyke of Wesley, AR, Louise Williams of Alpharetta, GA and Melissa Tharp of Branson, MO; two sisters, Delores Carmen of New Jersey and Eleanor Hogan of Mountain View, MO and ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Tharp; brother, Butch Ashton and grandson, Rylee Young.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
