Elvin L. 'Al' West was born October 19th, 1940 at Monette, Arkansas to David and Madelyn Monroe West. He married Roswitha Blaeske on March 1st, 1967 at Bismark, North Dakota. He served as Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force for over 20 years and was a veteran of Vietnam serving 2 tours of duty. Elvin lived in Mountain Home for 22 years, moving from Berlin, Germany. Survivors: He is survived by; his wife, Rose West of Mountain Home, one daughter, Wendy Simpson and husband Wesley of Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, one sister, Bonita Moore and husband Jim of Mountain Home, 2 grandchildren, Daryn and Sarah Simpson of Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, 2 nieces Ranee Sellars and Rhonda Greer of Mountain Home, 2 nephews, James D. Moore of Mountain Home and Andreas Blaeske of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. Funeral: A Memorial service for Elvin L. 'Al' West of Mountain Home will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 13th, 2007 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother James Moore officiating. Elvin West died Wednesday, April 11th, 2007 at Hospice House at the age of 66. Memorials: Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society and Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
