A Funeral Service for Elvira Lucy Lewis of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Monday, June 25, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Michael Shy officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Elvira passed away June 19, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 88. She was born May 13, 1924, in Utica, New York, the daughter of Anthony and Lucille Scuro. She married Elroy Lewis on August 2, 1947, at Cumberland, Maryland where she was a secretary for the U.S. Air Force and was a military wife during her husband's 24 year Air Force Career. Elvira lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1969 moving from Columbus, Mississippi where she was the former owner and operator of House of Bargains. She attended the East Side Baptist Church and loved God, her family, birds and dancing. She spent her entire life loving people, being always cheerful and singing, and never complaining. Elvira is survived by her daughter, Karen Lewis of Mountain Home, AR; 3 sons, Elroy Lewis Jr. of Mountain Home, AR, Carson (Trish) Lewis of Fishers, IN and Duane (Rebecca) Lewis of Lake Charles, LA; 6 grandchildren, Michael, Elroy III, Christopher, Sara, Heather and Daniel, and Stephanie and Kelly; 3 great-grandchildren, Samuel, Eva Marie and Nathaniel; 3 sisters, Faith (Dan) Aceto , Gloria Tretasso and Dora Dileo all of New Castle, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 brothers. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Cumberland, Maryland. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
