Memorial Graveside Services for Elwood "Woody" Madson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 AM Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, with Reverend David Gadbaw officiating. He died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at his residence, with his family by his side, at the age of 97.
Woody was born November 13, 1912 in Oldham, SD, the son of Edward Martin and Clara Olson Madson. He married Frances Koblizek on July 22, 1942 at Chicago, Illinois. He worked as a Tool and Dye Maker for Sloan Valve for over 20 years. Woody lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1972 moving from Lombard, Illinois. He was a wood craftsman, raised honeybees and enjoyed working outdoors. Elwood is survived by one grandson, Andrew (Beverly) Hairgrove of Mountain Home, AR, and many great and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter and son-in-law, Geri and Philip Hairgrove, one brother, and one sister.
Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks, 701 Burnett Drive, Mtn. Home, AR 72653. The family of Woody Madson would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Hospice nurses and all of his caregivers.
