She started work at Parker Pen Co. in the Research Dept. immediately after high school and later worked in the Travel Dept. Erline was a “people person” who enjoyed her work very much and retired as Human Resources Administrator in 1993, after 44 years of employment.
Erline married George H. Cox in 1952. Following retirement the Coxes moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas. They returned to Janesville often, including to celebrate their 50th anniversary in May of 2002. Erline loved her Lord, her family, and dear friends. She also enjoyed traveling, quilting, playing bridge, gardening, walking and boating. She was an excellent seamstress. She especially treasured time with her family and did volunteer work both at Mercy Hospital, and later at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. During her more than forty years at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Janesville, she served on the council, headed the Ladies Aid Assoc., and worked on several committees. Erline continued participation in Ladies Guild projects and various committees, at Redeemer Lutheran Church when she moved to Mt. Home.
Erline is survived by her husband George, daughter Christine (William) Bowen, son James (Kelly) Cox, grandsons Michael and Joshua (Britney), great-grandsons Trevor and Ethan, sister Patricia (Virgil) Harrison, brother Douglas (Betty) Ebert, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Russel, and sister-in-law Rosemary.
