A Memorial Service for Erna Grete Vondra, 90, of Bull Shoals, AR will be 11 AM Friday December 7, 2012, at the Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church with Reverend Terry Hart officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
Erna went to walk with the angels December 1, 2012, at Twin Lakes Rehabilitation Center.
Erna was born June 22, 1922, in Marienhohe, Germany to Gustoff and Katherina du Maire, one of 10 children, four brothers and five sisters. She lost her first husband in the war and married Laddie Vondra who brought her to America ?The Land of Opportunity. She became a US citizen on November 12, 1964. She didn?t expect much and loved simple things like a clean and comfortable home for her family. She loved to cook, sew, and crochet for her family. She moved to Bull Shoals from Brookfield, IL in 2004 and although she never adapted to the quiet ?country? life she did love the music of the Ozarks both at the Flippin Senior Center and the Bull Shoals Theater. Erna was a loving, kind and caring woman who taught her children to be kind, honest and respectful.
She is survived by her daughter, Frieda Danderson (Richard) of Bull Shoals, AR; son, Eric Werner (Darlene) of Wimberley, TX; two grandchildren, Christopher Danderson of Las Vegas, NV and Derrick Danderson (Michelle) of Crest Hill, IL; two great-grandchildren Samantha and Megan as well as many nieces and nephews. Her parents, two husbands, daughter, Sigrid Teglia, and all nine siblings preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
