Erwine Volltrauer

Erwine Volltrauer of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away October 9, 2022, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. She was born August 23, 1940, in a German village in Romania, the daughter of Ernst Ott and Klara Speidel. In 1955 her family moved to the United States. She met Joseph in Chicago at a German Dance Hall (Weber Halle) in Chicago, and later married him on October 31, 1959, in Chicago. While living in Chicago, Erwine was an excellent seamstress. In 1975, they moved to Mountain Home.

Erwine was lovingly called the domestic goddess by her adoring husband, Joseph, for all of her exceptional homemaker skills. She was Joseph's closest advisor for the company.

She had impeccable taste, known for her style and class. Erwine enjoyed cooking, playing tennis; was a self-taught gardener, and was the matriarch of the family. She loved her family most of all and made a beautiful, welcoming home for all of holidays. She always adored her family, and her family adored her. She was honest, always fair, and never showed favoritism.

Erwine is survived by her husband, Joseph V. Volltrauer of Mountain Home, AR; three children, Helga (Dana) Friedland of Mountain Home, AR, Brigitte Volltrauer-Shipman of Mountain Home, AR, and Heidi Volltrauer of Mountain Home, AR; five grandchildren, Erik (Aubyn) Friedland, Joseph Shipman, Katharina Friedland, Jakob Shipman, and Annika Friedland; great-grandchildren, Elaina Friedland, Emmett Friedland, and Estelle Friedland; and two sisters, Monika Knapp and Erika (Hermann) Volltrauer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Joseph, Johann, Freddy, and Gerhardt Ott.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 9:00 am until service time, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. A Memorial Service for Erwine will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
