Ethel Freant died Monday, March 10, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 97. Ethel was born Friday, January 20, 1911 in Arcadia, Kansas, daughter of Charles E. Grace and Martha Elizabeth Moore. Ethel worked as an Accountant for Caterpillar Tractor Co. She lived in Mountain Home for 38 years moving from Peoria, Illinois. She was a former member of the Area Arts Club, and also belonged to Navistar International, Three River Twirlers Square Dancers, Fun Timers Square Dancers, Serenity, Former President ( 2 years) - Friends of Hospice, Hospice Volunteer and a Volunteer with the Adult Basic Education Program and very involved at First Presbyterian Church, President of the Women's Group. Survivors: Ethel Freant is survived by a step daughter, Betty Ayers (Rick Kretschmar) of Springfield, MA, 3 granddaughters, 1 brother, Ray Grace of Carthage, MO, 1 niece, Sue Pape (Rich)of Wilmington, NC, 1 Nephew, Bob Grace of Carthage, MO, first cousin, Walter Foulk of Arcadia, KS. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 4 sisters, 1 stepson and 3 husbands; Tony Markello, Carl Bliesner and Floyd Freant. Funeral: Memorial Services for Ethel Grace Freant of Mountain Home, AR, will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jerry Strobel officiating. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks or First Prebysterian Church.
