A Funeral Service for Eugene Lawrence Larson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Promise Land Bible Church, with Pastor Mike Brinkmeyer officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Eugene passed away January 6, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born February 23, 1931, in Whiteboro, Texas, the son of Charles and Dora Dumas Larson. He married Thelma Crumpton on December 24, 1949, at Walnut Ridge, Arkansas and worked for Hoffer Plastic. Eugene was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Eugene lived in Mountain Home since moving from Elgin, Illinois, in 1993. He enjoyed woodworking.
Eugene is survived by three sons, Danny Larson of Mountain Home, AR, Gary (Linda) Larson of Elgin IL, and David (Debbie) Larson of Wichita, KS; one daughter, Carol (Luis) Garcia of Carpentersville, IL; nine grandchildren, Eugene Larson, Paul Larson, Amy Marie Larson, Rebecca Ann Larson, Gary Scott Larson, Kristin Yvonne Larson, Amanda Sue Larson, David Preston Larson, and Jonathan Larson; eleven great grandchildren, Ishiaa, Janessa, Michael, Anthony, Audrianna, Isabelle, Logan, Lainey, Makyna, Allison, and Kaley; two brothers, Charles (Maxine)Larson of Dupo, IL, and Robert Larson of Salem, MO; four sisters, Margaret Ayres of Dupo, IL, Sue (Gary) Clark of Columbia, IL, Helen Cockrun of Lousdale, MS, and Mary Breeding of Columbia, IL, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Mitch Larson.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guard
Memorials may be made to the Promise Land Volunteer Fire Department.
