Fena Johnston

Fena Johnston died Friday July 18, 2008 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. She was 70 years old. Fena was born September 26, 1937 at Douglas County, Missouri to Otis and Myrtle Collins. She married Herb Johnston on November 7, 1996 at Harrison, Arkansas. They had lived in Lakeview for six years. Fena was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She was a graduate of Drury College with a degree in sociology. She had worked as an administrative assistant for Douglas County. Fena was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Lakeview. Her family, her church community and all that knew her will miss her. Survivors: Fena is survived by her husband Herb of Lakeview, two brothers: Charles Collins(Laverne) of Fairview, Missouri and Dexter Collins(Lynn) of Buffalo, Iowa, two sisters; Bonnie Haskell and Mary Crain(Johnie) both of Muscatine, Iowa, three step-children Herbert Curtis Johnston(Cathy) of St. Charles, Missouri, Linda Heyse of Orlando, Florida and Scott Johnston(Susan) of St. Peters, Missouri. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Don Collins and Dale Haskell, one sister, Marie Hicks and her infant twin sister, Relda Collins. Funeral: A Memorial Service for Fena L. Johnston will be at 10:30AM, Tuesday July 22nd at Bethel Baptist Church in Lakeview with Pastor Patrick Norris officiating. Burial: Burial will be private. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
