Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Florence Amelia Bachmann went to be with God on June 22, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 92. She was born May 16, 1924, in Cantril, Iowa, the daughter of David and Florence Cook Kuntz. She married E. Paul Bachmann on January 22, 1948, at Burlington, Iowa and was an Executive Secretary to the Commanding Officer at the Oakland Army Base. After Paul passed away in 2009, Florence moved to Norfork, to live with her daughter. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, jumble puzzles, and watching and feeding the birds.
Florence is survived by her three daughters, Cheryl (David) McConkey of Norfork, AR; Melanie Waugh of Verona, WI; and Dr. Rebecca (Dr. Leonard Freed) Cann of Kailua, HI; son, Paul (Mary Ann) Bachmann of Oakland, CA; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and seven siblings.
A Memorial Mass for Florence Amelia Bachmann of Norfork, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Norbert Rappold as Celebrant. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 pm, Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Hot Springs, Arkansas, with Father George Sanders, as Celebrant.
