Mrs. Florence M. Porter

A Celebration of Life for Florence M. Porter, 76, of Lakeview, Arkansas will be 11AM Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. Burial will be in East Slope Cemetery, Riverside, Missouri, at a later date. Flo lost her battle with ALS “Lou Gehrig's Disease” on February 22, 2014.

Flo was born July 11, 1937, at Leavenworth, Washington to Raula and Mae McCann Hertzog. She worked for 22 years for Community Federal Savings and Loan retiring as the manager. Flo married Ted Porter on April 16, 1984 at Las Vegas, Nevada and enjoyed thirty years of marriage. She will be remembered for her sweet, loving personality, her ability to see the good in everyone and her love of animals.

She is survived locally by her husband Ted, of Lakeview, AR; son, Kent Sears; daughter, Pam Hayek; step-son, Albert Porter (Saran); step-daughter, Dorthy Porter (Dan Brier); sister, Helen Rowland; six grandchildren, Andrew, Jennifer, Dustin, Brandon, Jena, Todd; four great-grandchildren, Emily, Hudson, Henley and Beau and her dog, JD.

Flo is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Delores Byers.
