A Funeral Service for Floyd Lawrence "Larry" Collison of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Friday, October 19, 2018, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Larry Hopkins and Bob Rodgers officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2018, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Larry passed away October 13, 2018, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 77. He was born July 8, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Floyd and Gladys Arington Collison. Larry was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a steel worker for Bethlehem Steel and was a union representative, and helped save many jobs through the years. Larry lived in Mountain Home since moving from Baltimore, Maryland, in 2004. He was about to be initiated by the Elks Lodge, he enjoyed working out at the Mountain Home Athletic Club five days a week and loved to tell jokes.
Larry is survived by his life-partner, Barbara Mickey of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Lydia Love (William Robert Remington) Collison of Puyallup, WA; grandson, Jayden Carter Floyd Remington; Barbara's children, Angela Gilbert, Tina Harris, and Jeremy Jessup; and their children, Alan, Christopher, Charles, Josh, and Dylan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Lydia Love Collison, William Remington, Bob Rodgers, Larry Hopkins, Wayne Burnett, and Scott Worsham as pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and the United States Marine Corps Honor Guards, with the Patriot Guard assisting.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the Navajo Relief Fund in Phoenix, Arizona.
