Floyd Melton

Graveside services for Floyd Keith Melton will be at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Monkey Run, Arkansas at a later date. Floyd Melton died Saturday, November 7, 2009 in Southaven, Mississippi at the age of 68. He was born April 27, 1941 in Mulvane, Kansas, the son of Lon R. Melton and Melba Louise Fountain-Melton. Floyd was baptized on June 1, 1951 at the First Baptist Church of Mulvane, Kansas by the Reverend Fred Witt. He graduated from Cotter High School in Cotter, Arkansas on May 15, 1959. He owned his own Daycare in Destin, Florida and worked as a Grocer for the Winn-Dixie Corporation. Floyd enjoyed restoration of antiques and antique cars, woodworking and fishing. Floyd is survived by three children; Timothy Melton of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Tracy Dice-Melton of Kansas City, Missouri, and Floyd Scott Melton of Hernando, Mississippi, 7 grandchildren; Jeremy Melton, Tara Melton-Pendergrass and Andrea Melton of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Rebecca Dice of Kansas City, Missouri, and Chandler Carson Melton, Dakota Scott Melton and Alexandria Zoe Melton of Hernando, Mississippi. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Deloris Melton-Ford.
