A Celebration of Life for Floyd Albert Wainscott of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am Monday, October 24, 2011, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Carl Cook officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be 9:00 am until the time of service.
Floyd died Thursday, October 20, 2011, at his residence, at the age of 88. He was born July 21, 1923, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Clyde Albert and Mary Elizabeth Kirkpatrick Wainscott. He married Eunice Campbell on June 14, 1946, at Flint, Michigan. He worked as a teacher for the Mountain Home Schools. Floyd Wainscott was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Floyd lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1971, moving from Illinois. He was a member of the Twirling Funtimers Square Dance Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Historical Society, Retired Teachers and TOPS of Arkansas #149.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eunice of Mountain Home, AR; 1 son, Dean (Amy) Wainscott of Promise Land, AR; 3 daughters, Sandy (Chuck) Nicholson of Peoria, IL, Linda (Mike) Barboa of Springfield, MO and Jan (Gary) Luck of Mountain Home, AR; 1 sister, Janice Peters of Flippin, AR; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lee.
Inurnment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks.
