Frances Arnold was born August 1, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Clements and Stephania Stanek Szarlej. She married Lloyd Arnold on September 5, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a switchboard operator for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company and lived in Ohio prior to moving to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1975. She enjoyed gardening and was employed at WBBM in the Wrigley Building. She also volunteered with the Red Cross during World War II. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Frances Arnold passed away at her residence on June 22, 2005, at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 9 days. Survivors: Son Lloyd (Margaret) Arnold of Palos Heights, Illinois; daughter, Carol Ann (Jay) Singleton of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Kevin, Chad and Chris, and three great- grandchildren, Shea, Max and Jill Preceded in Death by: Her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters Funeral: Memorial services for Frances Arnold of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be Tuesday, June 28, 2005; 3:00 p.m., at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with Reverend Pam Morgan officiating.
