Frances Montgomery

Frances Ann (Sebilsky) Montgomery passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 88. She was born on July 11, 1936, in Waverly, Iowa. She was the daughter of Frank and Mabel Sebilsky and was one of six children. 

Shortly after her High School graduation, Frances started working for NorthWestern Bell in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This is where she met her soulmate, Joseph (Joe) Montgomery, and were married for 43 years, until Joe's passing in 2016. In 1985 Frances retired from NorthWestern Bell, and in 1988, she and Joe moved to Mountain Home. Frances was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church. 

Frances is survived by one sister, Mary Brecht, and many special nieces and nephews. Although never having children of her own, she was blessed to be a grandma of four; Dan (Melanie), Drew (Kirsten), Tyler (Sara), and Morgan, and a great-grandma of seven; Addison, Abigail, Raylan, Bennett, Evelyn, Sawyer and Lila. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, two brothers, and one granddaughter. 

Frances was known for her love of nature and birds, her homemade greeting cards, and her homemade gingerbread man cookies at Christmas time. Even sending them to her grandsons while deployed overseas. Frances will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 

Visitation will be Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 9:00 am until 9:45 am, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services - Mountain Home, Arkansas.
