Francis Duncan died Saturday, June 20, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 90. Mr. Duncan was born Saturday, October 19, 1918 in Des Moines, Iowa, son of A.I. and Florence Sterling Duncan. He married Leota Winget on March 15, 1942 at Des Moines, Iowa. He worked as an Engineer for the City of Cedar Falls, Iowa for 31 years. Francis Duncan was an Army veteran of WWII. Francis lived in Mountain Home for 28 years moving from Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was a 50 year member of Auburn Lodge (Masons) AF & AM, a 40 year member of Kiwanis (past president in Cedar Falls), a member of the Waterloo N4C Camera Club and the Ozark Woodturners. Survivors: Mr. Duncan is survived by his Son, James F. (Susan) Duncan, of Marshalltown, IA, Daughter, Mary L. (Ron) Kolder of Parkersburg, IA, Grandchildren; Jenny (Dave) Gosse, Jeff (Angie) Sale, Kathleen Duncan, Christopher Sale, Great-grandchildren; Jeffrey Sale-Kolder, Angela Sale-Kolder, and Sarah Sale. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Leota. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 pm, Tuesday, June 23 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Funeral Services for Francis "Dunc" Duncan of Mountain Home, AR, will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Fred Taylor officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Additional Notes: Military Honors will be provided by Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard.
