A Funeral Service for Francis John Harris of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Scot Moore and Mrs. Lynnda Jones officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 1:00 pm until service time, at the funeral home.
John passed away October 30, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 88. He was born January 3, 1925, in Palatka, Florida, the son of Harvey Robert and Rosie Jordan Harris. He was the youngest of twelve children. John was an honorably discharged U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He married Jacqueline in 1945 and were blessed with four children and worked for Florida Power and Light Company, in West Palm Beach, Florida. He retired after 32 years of service. In 1980, he began his new life with present wife Carolyn, who has been his loving and constant companion for over 33 years, as they have devoted their lives to Christ, traveling and ministering in Mexico, and many other places. They moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1995, where they still minister in small home meetings. He enjoyed ministering the word of God.
John is survived by his wife, Carolyn Harris of Mountain Home, AR; three children, Roger (Ada) Harris of West Palm Beach, FL, Jeffery (Marta) Harris, of Clarkridge, AR; Beth (Ivan) Green of Melbourne, FL; two stepsons, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Moore of Longview, WA, and Scot (Carol) Moore of Denton, TX; one sister, Ina Klares of Brandon, FL; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, ten brothers and sisters, and a son, Glenn C. Harris.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas
