Frank Gladson

A Memorial Service for Frank Edward Gladson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 19, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Nancy Taylor and Reverend Dr. Paul Mathenia officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until service time, at the church. Frank passed away February 15, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born January 12, 1930, in Pinckneyville, Illinois, the son of William Eugene and Jenny Craig Gladson. Frank married Mary Ann McElroy in Pinckneyville, Illinois. After Mary Ann passed away, he married Phyllis West Judy in 1985 at Pinckneyville, Illinois Frank retired from Caterpillar, Inc., as the head of purchasing, and lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1995. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Frank enjoyed fishing, golfing, and woodworking. He was a member of the 1948 Pinckneyville High School state championship basketball team and a member of the Caterpillar Diesels AAU basketball team. He was also inducted into the Illinois State High School Basketball Hall of Fame. Frank is survived by his wife Phyllis; two sons, Frank (Donna) Gladson of Peoria, IL, Steven (Kris) Gladson of Peoria, IL; four stepdaughters, Lisle (Bob) Applegate of Peoria, IL, Cheryl (Tom) Bower of Peoria, IL, Stephanie (Paul) Mathenia of Laurel, MD, Crystal (Randall) Compton of Fairbanks, AK; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Ann; two brothers and one sister. Burial will be in the Swan Lake Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois. Memorial service and burial arrangements in Peoria are pending. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Mountain Home.
