Fred passed away January 6, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 79. He was born May 14, 1937, in Frenchman's Bayou, Arkansas, the son of William and Addie Brown Barrett. He married Shirley Altenburg on December 4, 1991, at LaBelle, Florida and worked as a mechanic for Lee County. Fred was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. Fred lived in Mountain Home since 2000, moving from Fort Myers, Florida. He loved painting, woodworking, researching things and boating.
Fred is survived by his wife, Shirley Barrett of Mountain Home, AR; two daughters, Rose Mulholland and Stacy Grosso both of Mountain Home, AR; granddaughter, Christine Grosso of Bentonville, AR; three grandsons, Dennis, Dustin and Derek Mulholland of Carlisle, PA; sister, Edna Spence of Mountain View, AR; brother, Bob (Nilah) Barrett of Wallburg, NC and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
