Fred Mason, 82, passed away on August 5, 2022, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Fred was born on March 26, 1940 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Sterling Mason and Sally Mason. Fred graduated from high school in Detroit Michigan and went in to service, joining the United States Marine Corps. He served with the Marines for four years, then the National Guard for 26 years. He was called to active duty in Iraq during Desert Storm, along with the entire National Guard unit in Mountain Home and Harrison. He worked in quality assurance and retired from Baxter Heathcare in Mountain Home.
Fred was best known for listening to music, and was a member of the ShortCuts Barber Shop Quartet and the Mountain Home Community Choir.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Kim Miller; grandson, Dustin Miller; life partner of over 30 years, Gwen Walker; nieces and nephews, Nancy Lipski, Cheyenne Lipski, Hayley Lipski, Jeff Lipski, James Mason, and Autumn Ling Miller.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Mason; and sister, Janet Lipski.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made in Fred's name to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas or the ASPCA.
