Frederick Marshall Allen

A Memorial Service for Frederick Marshall Allen of Gassville, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Friday, April 29, 2016, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Tom Frase officiating.

Fred was born August 19, 1943 to Adrian and Zona Surles Allen in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He passed away April 24, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 72.

His early years were spent in Cisco, Texas, where he was known as the "Cisco Kid". He graduated from Abilene High School and entered Baylor University on a full football scholarship. Baylor won the Blue Bonnet Bowl his senior year.

He played semi-pro ball in Plano, Texas. His job with Texas Bank & Trust in Dallas, Texas enabled him to introduce Master Card and Visa to the area merchants.

He worked as the financial officer for a property company that constructed and maintained office complexes and multi-family dwellings. This job took him to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1980.

He started Noah's Pantry, a pet boutique with food and fashions for pets. Runway modeling, fountain sprays and doggie snacks on silver trays were a hit at the grand opening event, "Puttin on the Dog".

His hobbies included hunting and fly fishing, building and operating his G-scale garden railroad. He enjoyed sports and rooting for Baylor University and the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Zona Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Allen of Gassville, AR; daughter, Lisa (Carl) Swoboda of Livingston, MT; son, Eric (Tina) Allen of Overland Park, KS; brother, Bill Allen of Abilene, TX; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Alexandra Swoboda and Brody, McKenzie and Ellery Allen; cousins; a nephew; friends and many train and fishing buddies.
