Frederick Vollmar

June 11, 1914 — April 27, 2004

Frederick Gustav Vollmar was born June 11, 1914 at Friestadt, Wisconsin to Friedrich J. and Bertha Mittag Vollmar. He married Connie Mier on Feb. 18, 1939 at Milwaukee. He was a butcher for the Burbach IGA for 30 years. He moved to Mountain Home in 1975 from Milwaukee and then to Knoxville Tennessee in 1998. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Mountain Home and served as an elder, visitor to shut-ins and member of the Bible Study Group. He passed away on April 27, 2004 at the Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 16 days. Survivors: Two Sons; CDR Fredrick J. Vollmar USN ret., Wife Christine, of Knoxville, Tennessee and DR. William J. Vollmar of St. Louis, Missouri. Three Grandchildren; Michael, Matthew and Ashley and a nephew Thomas Becker and wife Margaret. Preceded in Death by: Parents, wife, Two brothers; William and Raymond Vollmar,Three sisters; Verna Becker, Elizabeth Bortz and Irene Johnson. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral: Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Reverend Kenneth Taglauer officiating. Burial: Entombment will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum. Memorials: Redeemer Lutheran Church.
