Gene Allen

Gene Allen of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away January 1, 2022, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 72. He was born September 3, 1949, in Harrison, Arkansas, the son of Arl and Anna Bell Burleson Allen. He married Karen Kellem on August 10, 1973 in Colfax, Arkansas and worked at the Baxter Lab. Gene was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and earned a National Defense Service Medal during his service time. He lived in Mountain Home since moving from Eros, Arkansas in August 1973. He enjoyed bass fishing, hunting, and farm life. He was a true country boy.

Gene is survived by his wife, Karen Allen of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Rhonda Allen of Mountain Home, AR; sister-in-law, Verlia Allen; niece, Tammy Allen; and uncle, Bill Burleson, and chihuahua, Peppi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arl and Anna Bell Burleson Allen; and brother, Jim Allen.

A Funeral Service for Gene will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Mrs. Charlotte Holmes officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR, with Truman Dover, Tim Dover, David Dover, Danny Holmes, Roger Anderson, and Mitchell Adkins as pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and U.S. Army Honor Guards. Due to current restrictions, masks are required.
